Teacher Professional Development Day

Along with the Department of Conservation, Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is holding a Teacher Professional Development Day.

This is your chance to spend the day in te ngahere on Maungatautari with experienced educators from DOC and Sanctuary Mountain. Experience the joy that being in nature brings and embrace the ngahere to grow your knowledge about conservation education and how you can integrate this into your local curriculum.

Led by experienced educators, this conservation education and wellbeing, teacher professional development day will give you the opportunity to:

• Participate in hands-on, nature-based wellbeing activities that you can use in your own classroom.
• Gain confidence in integrating conservation education into your programmes of learning.
• Connect with the natural environment and learn about the rich history of New Zealand’s largest fenced Sanctuary, Maungatautari.
• Learn about what's on offer at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari.
• Leave and equipped with practical resources to teach quality conservation education lessons.

Spaces are limited to 40 and available to teachers from the Waikato region.
