Why are we visiting Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari?

What have we been learning about in school? What do we know already?

What do we want to know? What questions could we have ready for when we arrive?

If it is useful you could fill in a KWL chart like this one before your visit.

Where is Sanctuary Mountain? How will we get there?

Open up Google Maps. Type in Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari.

Find the directions from your school.

How long will it take? Is there another way of getting there?

What?

What will it be like when we get there? What will we see? What will we hear?

This super short video might help you with your KWL chart.

Biosecurity - Check, Clean, Close

When you first arrive remember...

- you may be in a car park so listen to your adults and look and listen for vehicles.
- the bioloos are up the hill but make sure you go in pairs and tell an adult that you're going.
- to walk at all times.
- keep your hands to yourself as there may be traps, tools or other equipment.
- stay calm and quiet so that others can enjoy their visit and the wildlife isn't disturbed.
- to let an adult know if you aren't feeling well or if you are unsure of anything.

How?

How can we do our bit at home or at school?
